Important note: the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (October 2018 specifications) is a standalone qualification. The units from other NEBOSH qualifications cannot be used against any part of this qualification.
What are the course entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Important note: the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (October 2018 specifications) is a standalone qualification. This means that you will not be able to use units from other NEBOSH qualifications against any part of this qualification.

How is the course assessed?
This modern qualification focuses on key skills that means you can instantly apply the knowledge you gain and add value to your organisation.
Assessment is a two-step process:
An open book examination (OBE) to assess what you know and how you can apply your knowledge
(24 hour window in which to complete the OBE on examination day)
A practical risk assessment to assess what you can do
(Undertaken in your own workplace – recommended at least 3 hours to complete)
Both assessments are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.

The above are tested by an open book examination (OBE)

What is NEBOSH National General Certificate equivalent to?
On completion, this course is a level 3 qualification equivalent to an A level. This course is an ideal start for anyone who has set their sights on a career in health and safety.
Will there be an exam at the end of the course?
Yes, there will be an open book exam (OBE). There are usually 7-8 tasks to complete on each OBE. All the questions will be workplace scenario-based questions.

CCNSG Safety Passport National
The CCNSG Safety Passport scheme, which is over two days, aims to ensure a basic knowledge of a range of health and safety matters for all site personnel to enable them to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others after the appropriate site induction.
CCNSG Safety Passport Renewal
The 1 day course aims to cover a range of key topics that will help delegates in their role as team leaders or supervisors, whether new to the role or experienced.
Delegates must hold a current CCNSG Safety Passport, which is a prerequisite for attending this course.
CCNSG Leading a Team Safely
The CCNSG “Leading a Team Safely” one day course is designed to build on the health, safety, welfare and environmental awareness already gained from the delegates/renewal courses and increase the delegate’s knowledge in order to effectively carry out a Supervisory/Team Leader role efficiently, effectively and safely. Please note that delegates MUST have an in date CCNSG passport prior to course attendance.
IOSH Working Safely

NEBOSH National General Certificate
This course is conducted over one day a week for 12 weeks is designed to meet the requirements of the National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. Home study and additional materials will need to be purchased.
