What attracted you to work at WYMS?

I was ready for a career change, and after chatting with the CEO, I was excited to learn about the company’s progress and future direction. I enjoy taking on new challenges, and the variety within this role really caught my interest.

How does your professional background help you in your current role?

I have a varied background, starting in administration progressing to managing and supporting large teams. I have experience in training and mentoring staff which is something I thoroughly enjoy and hope to continue with during my time at WYMS. My experience working in a corporate environment has helped me understand the importance of compliance – something which I have taken on as my new role as office manager.  

What do you enjoy most about your role or working at WYMS?

The Team!

What’s one thing you’ve learned since joining WYMS?

I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the company’s values and how to put these into practice in my day-to-day role. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Spending as much time with my children before they fly the nest!

In addition to that, weekends away, spending time with friends, walking and I’m planning on taking up Clay Pigeon shooting soon 😊

Do you have a fun fact or personal motto you’d like to share?

In the words of Caroline Flack –‘In a world where you can be anything, be Kind’

What’s your favourite place in West Yorkshire?

My home village of Ripponden – after that Brighouse of course.

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Good listener, supportive but sometimes quite boring when I talk about the importance of compliance.
