National Engineering Day
WYMS Celebrates National Engineering Day by banding together local engineers - From engineering directors and technology experts to young apprentices, to highlight the incredible breadth of the sector, the creativity behind it, and the opportunities it continues to create.
The Power and Possibility of Engineering
Every year, National Engineering Day shines a spotlight on the ideas, innovations, and people shaping the world around us. It’s a moment to celebrate the creativity, collaboration, and impact that engineering has across every aspect of modern life.
Here at West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS), we’re proud to be part of a region with such a rich engineering heritage and so many opportunities for the future. West Yorkshire’s engineers and manufacturers are known for their ingenuity and resilience - constantly adapting, improving, and innovating. It’s a sector that thrives on diversity, bringing together people with different skills, backgrounds, and perspectives to tackle challenges and create products that change the way we live and work.
To mark National Engineering Day, we’ve been out and about meeting members of our engineering community = capturing their thoughts on what engineering means to them. From engineering directors and technology experts to young apprentices, these stories highlight the incredible breadth of the sector, the creativity behind it, and the opportunities it continues to create. Whether they’re designing the next generation of sustainable energy solutions, refining production processes in centuries-old companies, or developing cutting-edge technology to educate young engineers around the country, their work reflects the ambition and talent that define engineering today.
You can watch the videos below to hear directly from members of our engineering community as they share their personal stories, insights, and what engineering means to them.
You’ll hear first-hand from the people who make West Yorkshire a hub of engineering excellence - the problem-solvers, creators, and innovators whose work touches every part of our lives.
