Putting AI to Work with Microsoft 365. The WYMS AI Diploma helps you understand what AI can do. AI Practitioner is about putting that understanding into practice. This intensive, hands-on one-day course introduces a structured approach to identifying, designing and implementing AI-enabled business processes using the Microsoft 365 environment. Using the D³ approach – Discover, Design, Deliver – participants will learn how to move from a real business problem to a working solution. The emphasis is not on experimenting with AI for its own sake, but on understanding how work is currently done, identifying where automation and AI can genuinely add value, and then building practical solutions.

Course Content

During the day, we will work through up to several realistic business cases, using Microsoft 365 tools to automate processes, handle information and introduce AI where it improves the workflow. Participants will build alongside the tutor, gaining practical experience they can take back into their own organisations.

The course will explore how Microsoft 365 capabilities such as Power Automate, SharePoint, Lists, Forms and Microsoft Copilot/AI capabilities can be combined to create useful business solutions. Along the way, we will consider not only what can be automated, but where human judgement should remain, how AI can support decision-making, and how solutions can be implemented safely and effectively.

By the end of the day, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the D³ Discover–Design–Deliver approach to an automation or AI opportunity.
  • Analyse an existing business process and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design a practical workflow combining people, automation and AI.
  • Build working business process automations within Microsoft 365.
  • Understand where AI adds genuine value and where conventional automation is the better choice.
  • Recognise the importance of human judgement, controls and governance when introducing AI.
  • Take a structured approach to developing further AI-enabled processes within their own organisation.
Who is it for?

AI Practitioner is designed as a follow-on from the AI Diploma for people who want to progress from learning about AI to actually implementing it.

No programming experience is required. The focus is on solving business problems using tools that are already available within the Microsoft ecosystem.

What participants need

This is a hands-on course, so participants will need a laptop and access to a suitable Microsoft 365 environment in which they can build and test solutions.

This can be an existing Microsoft 365 business environment, subject to the appropriate permissions, or a suitable Microsoft trial environment set up in advance of the course.

By the end of the day, participants should have stopped merely talking about what AI could do and started building things that demonstrate what it can do.
