Profile

What first motivated you to become a trustee of WYMS?
I am passionate about supporting the growth of SMEs, as I feel this is pivotal to Manufacturing growing its share of GDP within the UK economy. WYMS exists to support the local SME manufacturing community, so I am keen to throw my support behind their vision.

What do you feel makes WYMS an important organisation to support?
I feel that WYMS can provide practical support to SMEs that is not available elsewhere, and they also provide a voice to air concerns within the manufacturing sector.

How does your professional background help you contribute to the charity/company goals?

I have experience of being a Charity Trustee in another area of my life, so I hope I can bring some of this knowledge into WYMS.

What do you find most rewarding about being a trustee?

Working alongside the WYMS staff team, and fellow Trustees from different sorts of businesses to achieve the charity’s aims and objectives.

What impact do you hope to make through your involvement as a trustee?

Growing the reach of WYMS, and hence increasing the support we can provide to SMEs.

What would you say to someone considering becoming a trustee for a local charity?

You probably have more skills to contribute than you may first think. If the aims of the charity inspire you, then jump in with both feet.
