This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and experience as a CNC Machine operator.

 

The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and combines theoretical learning and hands on instruction at the machine, and has been developed and delivered by an experienced shopfloor worker and qualified trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.

Module Content

This module covers:

  • Check component drawing for geometric tolerancing
  • Assess the drawing for features that require machining at the same time
  • Check for ant special finishers or treatment
  • Assess the number of operations required
  • First operation work holding methods
  • Produce a detailed operation sheet including work holding information
  • Assessing tooling sheet for each operation including reach requirements
  • Soft jaw machining for second operations
  • Use of fixtures for multiple operations

Courses are priced per person per module, and all half day modules are available on a pick and mix basis to suit your company's needs. Dates are flexible and can be arranged upon booking.
