Manual Turning: Fixed & Travelling Steady Rest Turning
This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and basic machine operational knowledge of a manual or CNC lathe.
The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and combines theoretical learning and hands on instruction at the machine, and has been developed and delivered by an experienced shopfloor worker and qualified trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.
This Module covers:
- Fixed steady - Applications requiring the use of a fixed steady, Different applications for fixed steady fingers, roller or brass pads, and setting up a fixed steady for shaft machining
- Traveling steady - Applications requiring the use of a traveling steady, setting up a traveling steady on an existing diameter and setting up a traveling steady on a newly turned diameter
Courses are priced per person per module, and all half day modules are available on a pick and mix basis to suit your company's needs. Dates are flexible and can be arranged upon booking.
