Manual Turning: Introduction to Turning

This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and basic machine operational knowledge of a manual or CNC lathe.

The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and has been developed and will be delivered by a trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.

This Module introduces:

• Health & Safety in a machining environment
• The basic operations of a lathe
• Different work holding methods
• Principles of tooling and cutting maerials
• Setting tools to the correct centre height
• Working with backlash
• Use of cutting fluids

Courses are priced per person per module, and all half day modules are available on a pick and mix basis to suit your company's needs. Dates are flexible and can be arranged upon booking.

Delegate requirements: A minimum of 2, and a maximum of 6 delegates per module
