This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and experience as a CNC Machine operator.

 

The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and combines theoretical learning and hands on instruction at the machine, and has been developed and delivered by an experienced shopfloor worker and qualified trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.

Module Content

This module covers:

  • Understanding the absolute home position of each Axis
  • Setting component work shift datum for the start of machining
  • Setting the tool geometry, and tool point position
  • Understanding the geometry value and what it means
  • Adjusting the tool offsets to maintain component size
  • What happens when the tool offset is called and how the value in the tool offset is used
  • What happens when the tool offset is cancelled and the resting position of the axis after this event
