This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and basic machine operational knowledge of a manual or CNC Turret Mill.

 

The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and has been developed and will be delivered by a trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.

Module Content

This Module covers:

  • Machine vice - Choosing a vice for the application, Setting a machine vice in line with the Machine Axis & Using a vice for a second operation
  • Scroll 3 Jaw Chuck - Choosing a chuck and chuck jaws for the application & Setting the cutting tool to a known centre point
  • Clamping to Machine Table and Use of Fixtures - Suitable methods of clamping, How to prevent distortion when clamping & Advantages of using fixtures
  • Rotary Tables and Dividing Heads - Applications for the use of a rotary table, Advantages of a rotary table when manual machining, Applications for the use of a dividing head & Setting up and calculating the rotations of the dividing head and plate
