This course is perfect for those with experience in a workshop environment, and basic machine operational knowledge of a manual or CNC lathe.

 

The half-day course takes place in collaboration with Colchester Machine Tool Solutions and combines theoretical learning and hands on instruction at the machine, and has been developed and delivered by an experienced shopfloor worker and qualified trainer with 40+ years of experience in CNC and manual milling and turning.

Module Content

This module covers:

  • Tooling selection for internal turning and finishing
  • Hole making- producing a hole using the tailstock, drilling, tapping, boring, reaming
  • Chamfering- removing sharp edges by producing an internal chamfer (form tool) and removing sharp edges by producing an internal chamfer (compound slide)

Courses are priced per person per module, and all half day modules are available on a pick and mix basis to suit your company's needs. Dates are flexible and can be arranged upon booking.
