Beyond Experimentation: What Does Organisation-Wide AI Adoption Look Like for Manufacturers?

WYMS
For many manufacturers, the conversation around AI is beginning to shift.

The question is no longer simply how individual employees can experiment with AI tools, but how businesses can move towards meaningful, organisation-wide adoption. What does that transition look like in practice? What are the challenges along the way? And, crucially, what can manufacturers learn from those already experiencing it?

On 5 November, West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS) will bring together manufacturing leaders, AI practitioners and academic expertise for Organisational Adoption of AI: Roundtable and Panel Discussion. The event will give those serious about adopting AI across their organisations an opportunity to learn directly from people with first-hand experience of the journey.

The discussion will feature contributions from those who have taken a leading role in implementing AI within their own organisations, alongside AI specialists who have supported businesses through the adoption process:

  • Andy Dawson – Managing Director at Siddall & Hilton
  • Omar Haider – Marketing & AI Manager at Siddall & Hilton Products and Founder of Orah AI Consultancy
  • Katie Fishwick – Managing Director at Specialised Covers and Founder of Specialised Digital
  • Nigel Bibby – Global Managing Director at OE Electrics
  • John Cook – Founder of Waypoint North
  • Professor Richard Hill – Professor of Agentic AI and Lead for Applied AI at the University of Huddersfield

Together, the panel will provide an opportunity to explore what is possible with the tools and resources available today, while sharing first-hand insight into the realities, challenges, pitfalls and potential benefits of organisational AI adoption. Attendees will also have the opportunity to put their own questions directly to those with experience in this space.

Mark Lewis, CEO of WYMS, said:
“There is a big difference between individuals experimenting with AI and successfully adopting it across an organisation. Manufacturers need opportunities to learn from people who have first-hand experience of that journey, including the challenges as well as the opportunities. Bringing our manufacturing community together to share that experience openly can help businesses make much more informed decisions about their own next steps.”

The event is sponsored by Made Smarter, who will also contribute to the discussion by sharing examples of the support and funding that may be available to help manufacturers progress digital projects.

This is a closed event The aim is to create an environment where manufacturers at different stages can ask honest questions, exchange experiences and learn from each other. If organisation-wide AI adoption is firmly on your agenda, get in touch with the WYMS team.
